East Side STEAM Day kicks off on Friday, Sept. 23
The East Side PTA is excited to announce that it is sponsoring five school-wide STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) days! To help make the first STEAM day on Sept. 23 a success, we need lots of boxes in all shapes and sizes. We also need volunteers to help collect, distribute, and clean up for the event. For more information on all of this, please click HERE.
If you can help or have questions, please contact Mollie Cushing at dmcush@bellsouth.net.

Hearing and Vision Screeners Needed
East Side’s hearing and vision screening organizers are looking for a few extra hands. This year, the annual health check for first and fourth graders will take place the week of Oct. 10. Training consists of a short, online course and a 15-minute, in-person test in mid-September. Volunteers are also needed to do paperwork and be classroom runners if you would like to help in another capacity. This program is run entirely by East Side parent volunteers.
To volunteer or get more information, please contact Nancy Parkin-Bashizi at Nancy@bashizi.com.

Candy Collection for East Cobber Parade
The East Cobber parade is known as the "candy parade." Help our school get ready by donating hard candy, such as Smarties, SweeTarts and Jolly Ranchers, in the labeled bin placed inside the school at the front entrance. Please, no chocolate, meltable candy, or candy on sticks. Let's fill up the bin so that East Side's teacher and professional of the year will have lots of candy to share Sept. 17!
