Community Outreach

We love to make a difference in the lives of those within our community.  The East Side PTA is committed to helping our students appreciate and understand the impact that giving back can have.  One small act of kindness can make a huge difference.  To become involved or learn more about the projects below, contact communityoutreach.espta@gmail.com

Candy Collection

After Halloween, the Community Outreach committee sponsors a Candy Collection. Donated candy will be distributed to several local organizations that assist children, the elderly, and our military serving overseas. Some of the charities include the Ronald McDonald House, Project Mail Call, and Operation Stars and Stripes. Last year we collected and donated over 500 pounds of candy! It is a great way for our kids to learn the importance of giving to others, while also providing those in need with a taste of the holiday.

Thanksgiving Baskets

Each November, every class at East Side collects donated food items to create Thanksgiving Baskets for our sister school, Fair Oaks Elementary.  Last year alone, over 100 baskets were donated to the appreciative families in our neighboring school community.

The Giving Tree

The East Side PTA partners with our school staff to fulfill the dreams of children who are most in need within our community and our sister school, Fair Oaks Elementary. The "Giving Tree" contains holiday wishes for around 100 children whose families feel stress and pressure in paying for daily necessities, let alone toys, gifts and clothing that their children desire. East Side families are welcome to participate in making the holiday season a little brighter for these children.
