The Health & Wellness Committee develops educational programs and projects to present to the East Side students. We realize that now is the time to start teaching our students about making better choices and choosing a healthy lifestyle, and we do that through the Fit in First, Fit in Third, Fit in Fifth, and Standing on the Shoulders of Giants programs.
These programs teach students the importance of being healthy -- eating nutritious foods, exercising, and feeling better about their bodies. The lessons are delivered by trained parents once a month in the classroom and focus on nutrition, strength, flexibility, cardiovascular health, body image, and moral character. All of the materials and presentation ideas are provided for our volunteers.
We're always looking for health-minded moms and dads to help teach our students about the importance of eating right, exercising daily, and taking care of our bodies.
