The PTA is looking for a few helpful volunteers for the Scholastic Book Fair next week. Click on this link to volunteer and get 10% off your purchases! http://signup.com/go/eMx44c

The fair, Nov. 14-28, is a great way to help our Media Center raise money for new books and technology! Don't miss family night Nov. 15 with story time and a very special mystery reader. If you have any questions, please email Bookfair.espta@gmail.com

East Side Gives Thanks by Giving Back

Every year, the PTA's Community Outreach Committee organizes a food drive to deliver Thanksgiving meals to families at our sister school, Fair Oaks Elementary. Please help fill these holiday baskets by bringing in food Oct. 31-Nov. 16.

Each class is asked to provide a Thanksgiving dinner for two families.  Room reps will be creating a signup sheet on your class website or Shutterfly page and will provide directions for the collection.

School-wide STEM Day Approaches

The East Side PTA is proud to sponsor the second school-wide STEM Day Friday, Nov. 18. At our first event on Sept. 23, students had a great experience collaborating and engineering a new game from the inspiring story of Caine and his homemade arcade room. This time, students will be completing a lesson that is geared toward their grade level and curriculum.  Be sure to ask your child over the Thanksgiving break what combination of science, technology, engineering and math they did. This is an exciting time to be a student at East Side!  If you have any questions, please contact Mollie Cushing at dmcush@bellsouth.net.
