1. Benefit your child! Research shows that children perform better when parents are involved both at home and school. 2. Get connected! There is no better way to know what's happening at school. 3. Tap into a network! PTA connects you to other parents and teachers through meetings, events and communications, helping to build a sense of community. 4. Be a role model! By becoming a PTA member, you'll be demonstrating to your child the importance you place on education. 5. Witness improvement! By getting involved in PTA you'll be part of the solution - helping to make positive changes.
If you join the PTA by July 15, you get a sneek peek at your kid's teacher a day early. To take advantage of this amazing offer, visit www.eastsidepta.membershiptoolkit.com. While you are on the site, please check to see if you have added your children to your family account.
Environmental Education Volunteer Needed
The PTA has a great opportunity for someone who cares about the earth, the future of our children and teaching our children about their role in the future of the earth. We are in search of a chairperson for the Environmental Education Committee, which oversees East Side's Waste-Free Lunch events and our outdoor classroom. The job could expand to include other environment-related projects (Earth Day, recycling) limited only by your passion and imagination (and the PTA budget, of course!). The time commitment is at least one day a month. Please consider giving back to the school that gives us so much. For information, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Spirit Wear Volunteer Needed
The East Side PTA is looking for an organized volunteer to lead our Spirit Wear Committee. The job entails working with our vendor who is designing new T-shirts, sweatshirts, socks and other items for our school community. All orders are placed through our web site, but the chairperson would work with a committee to distribute the spirit wear to buyers. Help us show our East Side pride and pick up this volunteer position. For more information, please contact PTA co-president Nancy Petriccione, email@example.com.
Help East Side win an iPad
Our Partner in Education, Casabella, is giving an iPad to the school whose supporters visit the store most this summer. Go to the home store through the end of July and enter East Side's name to win. The school with the most entries wins! Casabella, at 4400 Roswell Road, became an East Side partner earlier this year and has donated portions of its sales to the PTA. For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Shopping Rewards Continues in 2017-2018
Thank you to everyone who has participated in the PTA's shopping rewards program. We look forward to our continued success in 2017-2018. Please continue to collect and send in your Box Tops and Coca-Cola bottle caps with codes. Drop off will continue to be located in the lost and found closet near the Media Center. Kroger and Publix offer shopping rewards opportunities for our school. Go to Kroger's website and link your Kroger Plus Card to ESE (very user friendly). Publix has a card already linked to ESE; simply present it at checkout. The program Labels for Education is winding down so you will have until Dec. 15 to submit your labels. For more information, please contact Christine Conger at email@example.com.
